Red Flag Rules Finalized
Federal regulators have finalized the "red flag rules," with the deadline for compliance set for November 1, 2008. Although both rules remain largely unchanged from the original proposal, regulators did allow for some latitude in compliance, which some experts fear could create problems for the industry.
