GLBA Privacy
Dealerships must comply with the GLBA requirements to make disclosures to ”consumers” and ”customers” regarding the collection and distribution of non-public personal information. There are 3 disclosures that must be made to consumers and customers under the GLBA: initial; opt-out; and annual. Usually all three are handled by one document, the dealership’s Privacy Policy. The intended audience for the Privacy Policy is consumers and customers – but the intended audience for this Content Program is the dealership’s employees who must understand basic information about what the Privacy Policy is, why it is required, what to do if a consumer/customer asks about the dealership’s Privacy Policy, etc.
The program includes:
- GLBA Online Training/Information Security
- Safeguards and Privacy Policy
- Safeguard Monitoring Annual Report Form
- GLBA Guidelines
- GLBA Training Assessments
