Focus on the Customer: Big Topics – Proactivity & Partnerships
Because customer success stories can be valuable for more than just the people involved—and because I couldn’t stay away from the Smart Compliance Blog for too long—I thought I’d return for a quick guest post. Here are a few things that are top of mind for our customers right now, and what organizations are telling us about our products:
The Power of Partnerships
Before working with Compli, numerous businesses have asked us, “How can you possibly meet all my compliance demands?” Indeed, workforce compliance is a complex, multifaceted subject that may involve hundreds of different internal and external processes and stakeholders. And although our platform is designed to streamline the bulk of the work involved in compliance, one secret to our customers’ success is our large network of partners.
Some partnerships are integrated directly into our software. Through our recent affiliation with Hireology, for instance, Compligo users can easily find the right candidates and complete onboarding on the same platform.
Other partnerships take the form of referrals. We have strategically chosen to partner with a few organizations—including law firms, auditors, and training providers—that supplement our digital solutions with additional services. For example, if a customer tells me that they need somebody to visit their dealership and inspect it for occupational health and safety violations, I’ll introduce that customer to our friends at ComplyNet. (Want to learn more? We’re currently recording a podcast with ComplyNet and a shared customer of ours, so look out for that on the blog soon!)
Proactive Compliance is Defensible Compliance
One major theme I’ve picked up on across our customer base is the importance of proactive compliance. Customers have told us they appreciate how Compli empowers them to address gaps in their compliance programs long before legal or regulatory issues arise.
We’re not just talking about organizational or departmental readiness. A proactive compliance approach is particularly important when individuals (such as owners, chief compliance officers, and board members) can be held personally liable for corporate wrongdoing. Customers say that in addition to improving organization-wide outcomes, our compliance platform helps individuals feel confident they’re doing the right thing. That means better teamwork and decision-making—and better sleep.
When an incident does occur, or an issue crops up in the news, our platform makes it easy for compliance managers to quickly and effectively issue and reissue related training to their entire workforce, or certain segments. That, in turn, improves an organization’s position in the event of a lawsuit or investigation. In other words, if Ted the sales guy broke the rules, underwent training, and was terminated after breaking the same rules again, Ted’s employer is better equipped to succeed against a potential wrongful termination claim.
Compligo’s reporting functions make it all possible. Another advantage of reporting in Compligo, say our customers, is the friendly competition it inspires: departments continually try to set new high scores and outperform each other in terms of compliance outcomes. Moreover, many of the organizations we work with use reports in a meta way: to improve how managers interpret and use reports. (Cue the Inception soundtrack.)
Choice Quotes from Our Customers
“They don’t help us with our HR—they are our HR.”
“The Compli onboarding and training process is now a part of our culture. I can’t imagine life without it.”
“We haven’t had one legal claim materialize since we began using Compli. We now know that every employee has received and signed off on required information and as a result, our overall compliance activity is more secure.”
Have a compliance success story you’d like to share with the world? Curious about how Compligo can transform your organization? We’d love to hear from you.

Brett Safford here—long time no blog!
You haven’t seen me around these parts recently: 4 months ago, I switched from managing the editorial team, to a new position all the way on the other side of the office.
These days, I’m a member of Compli’s Customer Success team, where I help the Compli clients get the most out of their platform and achieve their unique goals.
