Compli Cares: Making Christmas Bright for Two Families in Need
We Compli folks are all about business, except when it comes to helping our community. Then we’re all about generosity. This year, the Compli Cares team wanted to help a family in need, and make sure kids enjoyed a merry Christmas instead of worrying if Santa would bring presents.
Compli “adopted” a family, and employees responded with overwhelming enthusiasm. The family, a single mom of three boys, one of whom has medical issues that occasionally requires hospitalization, did not know how to answer her children when they asked if Santa would be visiting their house this year. But we answered those questions by delivering loads of gifts to their door. The boys could barely contain their excitement. Mom said, “thank you for giving us Christmas.”
Then the team doubled down.
With the sheer number of gifts donated by employees, we were able to adopt a second family…a single mom with a daughter, recently moved to Portland hoping for a fresh start in life. They live in a small studio apartment, yet the family had carved out an area in the corner for a Christmas tree. There were no presents under it until the Compli Cares team arrived. Then the apartment overflowed with brightly wrapped packages, bringing mom and daughter to happy tears.
