States such as New York and California enacted or passed new legislation targeting harassment and discrimination at work. Meanwhile, courts throughout the country battled over employee identification, forced arbitration, and other major labor and employment concerns. And during all this, regulatory agencies spent their time launching massive investigations, adopting more rigorous policies, and issuing new rules and interpretations.
