Meet Your Next #ComplianceCrush: Kynzie Sims
A few months ago I introduced my list of Compliance Crushes – people that inspire me to learn more about compliance and have kept me engaged and interested. I thought I had a pretty great cast that would guarantee my reading list is always full of interesting and informative posts. Then we hired a new Content Product Manager, Kynzie Sims. Kynzie is one of the most vibrant people I’ve met, and that vibrancy ratchets up when we talk compliance law. (I never imagined I would type those words.)
Kynzie’s Betty Rubble like laugh can often be heard across the office when she’s enjoying a coworker’s joke or laughing at her own puns. She is a delight to work with. And, as delightful as she is, she is equally knowledgeable. One day I asked for her help writing a blog post about FMLA. She got up from the table and with the aid of a dry erase marker and a white board she educated me on the laws and acts, how it all works and why FMLA came into being. Again, I never imagined I would enjoy learning and look forward to the next meeting about rules and regulations.
Kynzie graduated from Western Oregon University in 2008 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and a double minor in social science and legal studies. During her time there, she worked for both the WOU Writing Center and The Journal Campus newspaper. After graduation, she attended Willamette University College of Law where she worked as a Legal Research and Writing Student Assistant. She was also a Court Certified Law Clerk for the Marion County District Attorney’s Office specializing in Domestic Violence crimes. Kynzie graduated with her Juris Doctorate and Certificate in Dispute Resolution in 2011 and was admitted to the Oregon State Bar. That same year, Kynzie began her role as in-house counsel for NAVEX Global (formerly EthicsPoint) and grew into a leadership role within their human resources team where she consulted on employment law issues and managed the global recruiting team.
Keep an eye out for Kynzie. In the near future you can catch her as a contributor on our blog and as a speaker on the upcoming webinar about the New Overtime Rule. And, if you want to meet this amazing women in person, connect with her in Chicago at either the Auto Team America event or at SCCE in September. If you need to be infused with enthusiasm about compliance Kynzie is your woman. With that, I offer her up as my contribution to the #ComplianceCrush world. You are welcome.
