Trucking Compliance Update: What You Need to Know About the Speed Limiter Mandate in February 2017
Concerned about the Department of Transportation’s proposed speed limiter mandate? Join the club: based on the whopping number of complaints the DoT received during the comment period last year, virtually every member of the trucking industry opposes the rule.
And so does President Trump. According to several industry experts, the rule may already be dead in the water—right around the time it would have otherwise gone into effect—because of POTUS’ strident anti-regulatory stance.
In 2017, however, there’s no such thing as a sure thing. With that in mind, operators would be wise to familiarize themselves with the mandate on the off-chance that it does become law.
