Most “pure-play” providers specialize in a discrete area of dealership compliance and HR management. Also, their platforms don’t fully automate compliance process and are missing critical functionality.
So, when assessing pure-play providers ask these questions:
- Will the solution protect all parts of my business across my risk profile?
- Does the solution contain the key features you need to manage a comprehensive compliance program?
- Does the solution make compliance processes less cumbersome?
Will the solution protect all parts of my business across my risk profile?
KPA is one of the better known “pure-play” providers in the dealer industry. Their primary focus is on-site safety inspections and audits.
In many dealerships, where KPA is used for safety inspections and Compli used for HR and workforce compliance management, the two providers co-exist harmoniously.
But, they don’t have the full coverage for other critical compliance initiatives like Sales F&I, HR and Cyber Security. Compli partners with experts in these areas to develop policies and training to protect your dealership. And we keep the content current as regulations change.
Does the solution contain the key features you need to manage a comprehensive compliance program?
Automation is key, and, like LMSes, this can be where a “pure-play” providers fall short. Scheduling, assigning and routing content is a core function of a compliance management platform. Some providers, KPA for example, have limited functionality in this area.
KPA requires users to attest to policies and fill out forms ON PAPER, then an administrator must:
- scan the document,
- upload it into the system,
- and add it to the user’s personnel record.
Another example is time-off tracking. Time off Requests can only be routed to the manager – not to HR, or any other person or department.
Lastly, KPA requires you to use their templated, hard-coded content, and doesn’t give you the flexibility to customize content to suit your dealership’s needs.
Does the solution make compliance processes less cumbersome?
KPA’s cumbersome platform tends to be a struggle for end users and administrators alike.
Tracking and reporting on compliance initiatives becomes a chore without automated process in place. Especially without the ability to deploy, assign and track key compliance activities like online forms and completion reminders.
And how many hours are wasted printing, filling forms out manually and scanning them back into the system?
