Ricart Streamlines & Automates Compliance Obligation Management With Compli
Ricart Automotive Group started small in 1953 but has grown to a 66 acre dealership employing over 500 employees in its 60+ year lifespan. Compli saves Ricart hours of work, avoids process bottlenecks and gives them the confidence that all of their compliance obligations are being met.

With more than 60 years under their collective belts, the management team at Ricart has seen payment methods come and go over the years. “Back when we printed our own payroll checks, our primary way of sending out news and compliance requirements to employees was by printing the information on each employee’s paystub,” said Rob Caruthers, CFO at Ricart Auto Group. “We used the pay stubs to send out notices on everything from highly critical compliance information to announcements such as, ‘Hey, we have King’s tickets available tonight.’”
“As we moved away from printing our own payroll checks and instead began using direct deposit, we found we no longer had a reliable way to communicate internal information, training and compliance requirements to employees,” said Caruthers. “We could communicate with managers and track required trainings and compliance activities manually, but we still didn’t know if we were reaching each individual employee.”
Not only was Ricart’s manual approach unreliable, but it was also costing the dealership group a considerable amount of time and money. For example, each processed form cost the dealership $8 and each training course cost the group $12 in combined paper costs and employee/manager processing time. Not to mention the constant headaches and uncertainty surrounding compliance. Ricart knew there had to be a better way.
Based on its excellent industry reputation, Ricart selected Compli’s comprehensive Compliance Obligation Management Platform to streamline and automate their compliance and training obligations.
With Compli all compliance obligations including policies, procedures, trainings, certifications, injury and discipline reports and more are automatically distributed, tracked and reported on from a central, cloud-based Platform.

Now Caruthers and his team rest easy knowing that each and every employee receives, views and signs-off on all critical compliance activities.
“We were one of the first companies to use Compli when it was introduced and we like to think of Compli as our main defense against potential liabilities,” said Caruthers. “We have found Compli’s Platform to be an effective way to standardize, document and track communication
with our employees.”
“In fact, Compli has helped save us in, what might have otherwise been, some sticky situations. On a few occasions we had employees report work place injuries, and then later claim they had never been properly trained on the right policies and procedures. Well, we simply went into Compli, and found their signed policies, procedures and training documentation – complete with time and date stamps. There was no room for argument. If we had still been tracking these compliance items manually, who knows if they would have been completed properly.”
While the added protection Compli’s Platform brings to Ricart is impressive, the dollar savings per compliance activity is phenomenal. Using Compli’s Platform, Ricart reduced their average cost per activity from over five dollars to one, saving the dealership an estimated $90k annually.
Thanks to Compli, Ricart now enjoys a 99% compliance rate for on-the-job requirements.
“With Compli’s Platform, we can monitor, document and track paperwork, trainings, policies and procedures across departments and locations, with very little effort. Compli saves us hours of work, avoids process bottlenecks and makes me feel confident that all of our compliance obligations are being met,” said Caruthers.
“We haven’t had one legal claim materialize since we began using Compli. We now know that every employee has received and signed off on required information and as a result, our overall compliance activity is more secure.”
